Is Da Nang or Hoi An better with young children?

Most families base themselves in Da Nang, which has the big beaches, the theme parks, the airport and the widest choice of family accommodation, and visit Hoi An for a day or an overnight for the lantern-lit Ancient Town. Some prefer to base in quieter, car-free Hoi An and day-trip into Da Nang instead. The planner lets you pick either as your base and add the other city, so you can compare both.

What should we do in Da Nang on a rainy day with kids?

Da Nang’s rainy months (roughly September to December) still have plenty of indoor options: the Helio Center indoor play zone, play cafés, the Cham Sculpture Museum, and your hotel’s pool and facilities.
