Da Nang Weather, Month by Month

Wondering what the weather is like in Da Nang when you want to visit? Tap any month to see the typical temperature, how warm and calm the sea is, how much rain to expect, and how busy it gets, with a short note on what each month is like with little ones.

Da Nang has two broad seasons. From roughly February to August it is warm to hot and mostly dry, with the sea at its warmest and calmest between April and August, the prime beach stretch. From September to December it turns wet, and October and November are the heart of the rainy season, with heavy downpours and a rougher sea. January and December sit in between: cooler, with some rain. Pick a month below for the detail.

We deliver baby gear to families in Da Nang and Hoi An all year round, so we see first-hand how different the months feel with a baby or toddler. This page is a plain reference: choose a month to see the typical numbers and a short family note. Figures are rounded typical values, not a forecast, but they are reliable for planning.

A quick orientation: the beaches are at their best from April to August (warm, calm sea), the quietest and cheapest months are the rainy ones (October to November), and the gentlest all-rounder for little ones is often February to April, before the real heat of mid-year.

Weather tips for a family trip

  • Beaches are best April to August. That is when the sea is warmest and calmest for toddlers. Outside those months it is cooler and often rougher, fine for sandcastles, less so for swimming.
  • Plan around the midday heat from May to August. Do your outing in the cool morning, keep the hottest hours for the pool and a nap, and head out again in the evening. Our itinerary planner builds days around exactly this.
  • October and November are wet. Expect heavy rain and the odd flood. It is the cheapest, quietest time, but pack a rainy-day plan: see our rainy-season guide.
  • Bring sun protection year-round. Even in the cooler months the UV can be strong. Hats, shade, high-factor sunscreen and plenty of water for babies and toddlers.
  • A stroller doubles as shade. A canopy stroller is a portable patch of shade and a nap spot on hot days. If you are renting, our strollers arrive clean and ready.
